Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September 2012 I am taking on the challenge of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa standing at 5,895 metres above sea level. I am taking on this six day trek not only for the challenge and experience, but in order to raise money for a good cause.
Meningitis Research Foundation's vision is a world free from meningitis and septicaemia.
Aims:
Research into the causes and treatment of all forms of meningitis.
Education of the public in the causes, treatment and prevention of meningitis.
Help relieve the distress to individuals and families caused by death and damage through meningitis.
Anyone can get meningitis or septicaemia, but age is one of the main risk factors.
Babies are at the highest risk and Toddlers are also at increased risk.
Teenagers and Young Adults are mainly at risk from meningococcal disease.
It is important to know that you can get meningitis or septicaemia at ANY time of your life.
