Two Castles Run · 14 January 2009

Acorns supports more than 800 children and over 1,100 families every year. The charity needs to raise £14 million each year to provide its care services across hospices and community settings. Your support means Acorns can continue to be there for local families facing the unimaginable.

Story

We have decided to attempt the Two Castles 10K run for two reasons, firstly we all needed some motivation to get ourselves fit, so we needed a goal.  Secondly, we wanted to do something as a group to raise money for a well deserved charity and have some fun whilst we are at it.

The run starts at Warwick Castle and finishes at Kenilworth Castle. Bearing in mind the most exercise any of us do is walk to our car at the end of the day…except Mrs Mac who is a pro runner!! This is going to be really hard for all of us!

The charity we are hoping to raise lots of money for is Acorn's Children's Hospice, we decided what better than to raise money for a local charity. Acorn’s Children’s Hospice needs as much support as they can possibly get.  It cost’s Acorn’s £19 per hour to give special care for a child, so any money that you sponsor us will be gratefully received and will make a huge difference to someone's life.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Acorns Children's Hospice Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!!  And feel free to come and watch us suffer on 7th June ....
