Somehow I have found myself with a place in the Virgin London Marathon in April this year! This was totally unexpected, so I’m going to need all the encouragement I can get.
The Bridge Trust is a Tonbridge, Kent, based charity that has been supporting single homeless people in West Kent since 1991. Shirley and I have been involved with them in various ways over the years and are conscious of the tremendous good they do. Bridge Trust makes a significant difference to homeless people's lives by helping them achieve independence in a home of their own in one of the charity’s houses, and by giving advice and other support. To date they have helped over 5,000 homeless people – more than 250 a year! Who says West Kent has no homelessness problem?! But this kind of practical support takes money. In today’s economic climate, grants and other income to charities is in short supply. For a charity like Bridge Trust this has a direct effect on their ability to support homeless people. Please consider helping me through my brief ordeal by helping Bridge Trust support those whose ordeal is much more fundamental. Donating to Bridge Trust through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Bridge Trust and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now – and keep me running for Bridge Trust!
