Demelza believes in care that doesn't back down. We deliver extraordinary care to extraordinary children who are facing serious or life-limiting conditions, throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex.

Story

In May 2008 we lost our beautiful 3 year old Daughter Evie to a rare form of Cancer.Evie was diagnosed on Christmas Eve 2007,and despite intense treatment over a 4 month period we tragically lost our battle....Evie was a very brave little girl, who endured a highly intensive and painful treatment programme.

When it became clear that we had very little time left together, we were taken into the fantastic care of Demelza Childrens Hospice.Being at Demelza enabled us as a family to focus totally on saying goodbye to Evie, and allowed us to be with her for every precious minute of every precious day that she had left.

Demelza are still there for us as a family giving support where they can.We are not the only family to have suffered a loss of a child, and Demelza helps as many families as it can.Unfortunately they receive little or no state funding (as do all childrens hospices in the UK) and therefore rely almost entirely on charitable donations from people like you.

I together with a group of friends have decided to raise money for Demelza in the hope that whatever the amount we raise will help them to continue the fantastic work they they do for other families that find themselves in a similar position to us.

We will be riding for 4 days and will cover over 300 miles. We know that it will be extremely tough given our age and relative lack of fitness!!Nevertheless we will finish and with your help it will be totally worth it.
