RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

As both of us enjoy watersports - sailing, powerboating, rowing, scuba-diving, waterskiing etc - it seemed the natural choice for us to support the RNLI in running the Flora London Marathon. 22nd April is a special day for Roger, with the following day being his 60th birthday.

In order to keep its fleet of over 330 lifeboats in service, the RNLI has to raise over £120million this year to maintain the service which, in 2005, saw the lifeboats launch 8,273 times and rescue over 8,104 people.

A donation of even a few pounds helps, so please give as generously as you can. Donating through this site is simple, fast & totally secure as well as being the most efficient way to sponsor us. The RNLI will receive your money faster and an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you if you are a UK taxpayer. So please sponsor us online now!

Many thanks,

Roger & Rory
