We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are entering the London Marathon of yacht racing. Our close friend Paul Smith died from leukaemia on 16th December 2013, at the age of 25. He was a fabulous sailor and we had watched him grow up from being a young crew in our local dinghy sailing club to racing at European Championships in the B14 class of dinghies. During his treatment we often spoke about doing the Isle of Wight race when he was better, but now we are sailing in his memory.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity.

We really valued the extra time that modern medical treatments gave Paul, and continued to hope for his recovery; we miss Paul's humour and light hearted approach to life.  We know many people whose lives are affected by cancer, both as survivors and mourners of those who are gone.  As cures often transcend disease categories we selected a broad research charity for our fundraising efforts.

So, for everyone who wants a cure, needs a cure and wishes for better treatment for all people with cancer.  Dig deep and put your money where it will make a difference.
