Thank you for visiting our MBL Marathon running 2007 fundraising page.  The race will be held on 27th May, the Bank Holiday weekend, through the historical Edinburgh .

Your support would mean a lot to us and to the Chinese disabled kids and the children in the rural areas- even a little money will go a long way! So please dig deep and sponsor us online.

"Culture for Children" is MBL's mission. All the money raised will go towards several ongoing projects which involve developing and supporting various cultural activities for children from China .

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Mothers' Bridge of Love will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

If you have any further queries about the projects and the MBL, please visit the MBL website www.motherbridge.orgSo please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.

The MBL Marathon running team  RED ARMY

P.S The details about our runners are listed below:

HONG Jun, a PhD student from ESRU (Energy System Research Unit) at University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, started running one year's ago. He attended the Great Scottish Run (half-marathon) in Glasgow in September 2006 for the first time and finished it within 100 minutes. From then on he kept running 3 times a week with his colleague whatever the weather it is. He is going to take another challenge this year, Edinburgh Marathon Relay on 27th May 2007. Different from the last time, he will run for the Mothers' Bridge of Love (MBL) charity and help them to raise some money to aid the children who need our help the most in China. He really looks forward to it and will try his best to challenge his best personal performance. Hope you guys can support him.

SHI Dong is called as "Stone" by his friends and the people around due to a similarity both in the pronunciation and the meaning with his name in Chinese. He loves running and regards it as part of his life like eating and sleeping. He has quite a few long-distance running experiences before (a few 10km and a couple of 20km). Although failed in the application for London Marathon in the previous two years, he will again give a try in 2008. He has financially aided three kids in China and will keep doing so for the good of the children, which is the main reason why he takes the opportunity to run in Edinburgh Marathon Relay for the MBL charity.

LI Haoying is currently working in Birmingham as a University Research Fellow.  Haoying considers the running as a part of his life, and enjoys jogging every early morning. Although it is the first time for him to run a long distance race, he is ready to confront this challenge and consider it a way to support those children who need help.

LIU Lei, a master student in University of Glasgow, currently is doing an international law program course. He had been studying in New Zealand for 6 years where he got a Master Degree of Management. He had been exercising in running since he was in primary school. Although he never got a chance to put himself in experiencing the marathon before, he would like to give a try for this tough sport. He will commit himself and give his best effort to this charity event.
