Neil Tait, Andrew Rendall, Neil Robertson, David Hamilton, Grieg Rorie and Scott Milne have decided to undertake the 3 Peaks challenge to raise funds for Cancer Research - the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.
The National Three Peaks Challenge is a mountain-endurance challenge in Great Britain, with a history of over 40 years, in which participants attempt to climb the highest peaks of each of the island's three countries. Whilst the challenge has no official rules or time restrictions, many participants including us will try and complete it within 24 hours, using motorised transport to travel between the mountains.
We will be starting the challenge at 5pm on the 20th of May 2011 at the base of Ben Nevis we hope to complete this in 5 hours, followed by a 6 hour drive, followed by Scafell Pike 5 hours, followed by 4 hour drive followed by Snowdon to be completed in 4 hours which totals the 24 hours.
Cancer is something that has affected all of us within Kirkwall Airport Fire Section and we are more than happy to go through this challenge to raise money for Cancer Research. Please donate a small amount to this worthy cause.
