<p>I'm going to be running the London Marathon for the Free Representation Unit - all 26.2 miles of it (although past experience suggests that the last couple of miles might be more of a shambling hobble).</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>FRU provides pro bono representation in about 1000 cases each year, covering Social Security and Employment tribunals. Most of the work is done by volunteers (mainly students) but there is a small staff, including myself as Legal Officer, Employment.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Like most legal charities we are facing troubled times and we are currently operating at a defecit. Anything you can spare will be put to good use helping our vulnerable clients and providing valuable experience for our volunteers.</p>
