We train law students and young lawyers to provide free representation at tribunals

Story

I'm running the London Marathon for the Free Representation Unit - all 26.2 miles of it (although past experience suggests that the last couple of miles might be more of a shambling hobble).

FRU provides pro bono representation in Social Security and Employment tribunals, where Legal Aid isn't available. Last year we helped people in 1145 cases. Most of the work is done by volunteers (mainly students) but there is a small staff, including myself as Legal Officer, Employment.

Like most legal charities we are facing troubled times and we are currently operating at a defecit. Anything you can spare will be put to good use helping our vulnerable clients and providing valuable experience for our volunteers.
