Our first major project in Nepal
, The Refuge Children Project, initially addressed the problem of the scores of innocent children who were being held in jails alongside their imprisoned parents. Later the project was extended to help street children and former circus children.
We are committed to care for these children until they come of age or until their parents are able to look after them again. We do so to a very high standard with children being brought up in family-style refuges where they are indistinguishable from other children in the community. They attend the local school and are excelling at their studies, managing in the process to catch up on the lost years inside prison, on the streets or working in the circuses.
The costs of this long term care are very high and we still need to raise £24,726 towards our 2006 Refuge Children Project budget of £51,847. This helps us meet the daily costs of the children’s carers, food, clothes, education, medical expenses and treats. To donate towards The Refuge Children Project please use the button below.
