About our charity : The Place2Be The Place2Be
The Place2Be is a school-based service dedicated to improving children’s and families mental health and emotional wellbeing. We offer counselling in 146 schools to 47,000 children and parents, alongside dedicated support and training for school staff members. By giving children the chance to explore their problems through talking, creative work and play, we enable them to cope now and to make better-informed decisions about their lives. Divorce, neglect, long-term family illness, bereavement, domestic violence and abuse are just some of the difficulties The Place2Be helps children and their families deal with. The Place2Be is a national charity that supports and nurtures troubled children in schools through one-on-one counselling, giving them the means to cope with their problems and build the foundations for a successful life. The charity currently supports 40,000 children across the UK and hopes to be working with 80,000 children by 2010.
