My story

(Note added Monday 8.16am 27/4/09.  So, it was extremely hot and very crowded.  After 3 miles I knew there was not a chance of a pb so just setlled back and enjoyed it! (kind of!??)  I did it in 4:00:47 which is a pw (personal worst!) in fact!  I came in a respectable 8792nd out of 36000, which is not bad given how fit some of those runners are.  (I beat Gordon Ramsay!).  Many thanks again to all of you who supported this effort.  I will not put my sponsors through this again (I promise!).

In summary, God is so very good, and you are all wonderful and beautiful people! The money you gave is hugely appreciated and I hope you will get the chance to meet Ian Wilson one day and find out first hand the difference it makes.

I'm off for a cold bath!  Cheers.  Joe

ps.  Anyone fancy swimming the Channel?

Hi everyone

Thanks for even thinking about sponsoring me.  I am not worthy!

At this economic time, my view is that it's not particularly appropriate to go around asking people for money. So I just want to say if you do give you are giving to something absolutely fantastic -  you change the lives of some of the poorest of the world's poor in Tanzania for the better.  My friend Ian Wilson (a dentist) and his wife Andie set up the charity Bridge2Aid.  These are beautiful* people who are very like Jesus and truly demonstrate how to make the world a better place.  They inspire me with their selfless love and commitment.  I know that any money you give will really help their work of transformation.

I ought also to point out that Ian is a great laugh and should you ever meet him do ask him about the time he first stayed at my house (with the Rev Steve Halliwell)and the quality of the presentation he made to eager young Christians the following day!

Here's a bit more on Bridge2Aid - find out lots more at www.bridge2aid.org Thanks. for visiting my fundraising page.

In every society there are those who exist at the margins. In Tanzania they are known as the Maskini - leprosy sufferers, victims of other disfiguring diseases and the disabled. Ostracised by mainstream society, they live on the streets, eking out an existence and trying to avoid the physical consequences of the rejection they attract. Our work befriending, feeding and clothing the Maskini is the first stage of a long term development programme to help them create a better future for their own community.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bridge2aid gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So if you want, please sponsor me now! You are beautiful people! (Even if you decide not to!)

* with Ian this beauty manifests itself primarily in "inner" beauty but Andie lets it show on the outside too!
