I would like to draw your attention to the work of two former Riflemen, Paul Ungi and Sean Wheeler (who I had the pleasure to command when I led 3 Platoon A Company of 3 RGJ later 2RGJ in 1990-1993).
Both left the army a while ago and have been touched by the news of casualties and fatalities among the Rifles serving in Irag and Afghanistan. Paul and Sean have embarked on a project to raise money for Care for Casualties by holding the first RGJ Scooter Club Charity Christmas Bash. They have organised the Christmas bash at the Clarendon Club, Tidworth, Wilts on 17 December.
Paul and Sean have been both determined and enterprising in securing some fabulous live acts: DC Fontana, DJs Ian Hurford and Alfie Linney, all playing free or for travel expenses only. They have gained the cooperation of BFBS radio to publicise the event and have sold all but 10 tickets (Sales of £600). Paul and Sean have trudged the streets of their local cities, securing some great raffle prizes and generous donations.
Please supplement their fundraising with your personal donation!
Yours Stefan
