The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advanced life-saving emergency care for everyone in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are a ‘mobile emergency department’ that relies entirely on donations to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

Story

This will be the second year that I have taken part in this charity ice hockey tournament but the first year that I am raising money for Wales Air Ambulance. The charity runs the three Air Ambulances that cover Wales and run between them 2000 missions a year. Especially with the recent flooding in North Wales (where my family are from) the Air Ambulances have really proved their worth, with many road inaccessible during this time. They can reach their destination within 3 minutes of the call from emergency services! They are also the best responders for hikers and adventure seekers who flock to Wales for their adrenaline fixes. However this charity relies entirely on public support to keep the air ambulances running, which requires £6 million every year to remain up-and-running.

Over the years Wales Air Ambulance has grown to be one of the busiest air ambulance operations in the UK. For more information visit the website at http://walesairambulance.com.
