The Aspire Channel Swim 2009 · 6 December 2009 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I have just completed swimming the distance of the English Channel.  I completed 1416 lengths of my local pool, a total of 22 miles!!  I began the challenge on Sat 27th June and completed it on Friday the 10th July 2009.  I am hoping to raise a pound for each length completed, which would be a fantastic result.  Every penny counts.

After 10 sessions swimming, I've achieved 1416 lengths (35,400m), that's 22 miles, and as an added bonus swam the last mile in a new personnal best time of 42 minutes and 5 secs, beating my previous PB by 3 mins and 30 secs.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ASPIRE gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanks for your support.  Rhino x
