About our charity : War Child War Child
War Child is an international child protection agency that works with the most marginalised children - child soldiers, street kids and children in prison - in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. War Child believes it is unacceptable that children continue to be victims of war. 66% of people who die in conflict are children. In the last decade alone 1.5 million children have died in wars. Four million have been disabled and a further 10 million traumatised. We provide vital, on the ground support programmes in each of the conflict zones we work in but also lobby politicians and governments to ensure our cause and the rights of children affected by war remains high on the public and political agendas. This approach allows us to ensure every pound we receive goes as far as possible - not only to the crucial projects in the field, but to ensuring children caught up in conflict, no matter where they may be, have a chance to be protected. We work where other agencies do not, reaching the most at risk children in the most dangerous war zones and your support means we can continue to do so. War Child looks forward to a world in which war is not prosecuted on children.

Thanx for visiting our Dumball fundraising page!!

For those who don't know the Dumball Rally is a road trip across Europe, starting in Brussels and finishing in Corfu. It is 1600 miles!

Basic rules... Buy car for less than £400, raise money for worth while charity, drive to Corfu, sell car (giving money to said charity), fly home

There are over 30 teams aiming to make it in one piece to Corfu. Our team is BUMMER BOYS (a Beach Boys theme with a flourescent twist) and we are hoping that our car RHONDA will make it all the way there. Then we can finally take the roof off

Here is a brief itinerary of the trip...

Saturday 24th May: Set off in convoy for Munich (450 miles) to arrive in the evening. We stay on the outskirts of Munich (20 minutes from the centre).

Sunday 25th May: Leave @ 9.30am for Zagreb. Possible stop for lunch in Ljubiana, Slovenia arrive at our Zagreb city centre hotel early evening.

Monday 26th May: Leave @ 11am for Sarajevo, Bosnia. Arrive Sarajevo early evening (city centre)

Tuesday 27th May: Leave @ 9am for Dubrovnik, Croatia..Arrive Dubrovnik in the afternoon.

Wednesday 28th May: Leave for Shkodra, Albania @ 12pm . Arrive Shkodra early evening

Thursday 29th May: Leave Shkodra 10am for Bitola, Macedonia

Friday 30th May: Leave @ 9am for CORFU!.

Saturday 31st May: Awards Ceremony, Dinner and Party @ secret location!!!
