LLWYDDIANT !  - WE DID IT!

At just after 6pm on Monday 16th June we rolled into Cardiff bay after our epic 4 day, 251 mile bike ride from Holyhead along the Sustrans Cycle Route. There were some tired legs on arrival but our spirits were soon lifted by the warmth of the reception waiting for us from family and friends.

The journey was very tough in places, especially the 2 tricky climbs after Dolgellau and Machynlleth. Rhiw Fawr was a killer climb, and the sun was out in full force to add to the challenge. Everyone enjoyed the experience, and there's even talk of organising next year's trip...perhaps to Spain! Watch this space!

Dave had a nasty fall on the rapid decent towards Corris and Gethin was unfortunate to get both a puncture and a tumble within 10 miles of leaving Holyhead....but both got straight back on their bikes and could look back and laugh at the incidents.

We were extremely fortunate to get dry, sunny weather for the whole journey, contrary to the forecasted weather reports. Most of us looked like we'd been on a foreign holiday by the amount of sun we'd caught on our faces, arms and legs!

Thank you very much to all of you who donated towards our chosen charity - Cancer Research Wales. We exceeded our target sum and money is still rolling in so thank you to every single person who donated. We really appreciate your support.
