Story
On Friday 31st October, I am running 5 kilometres in order to raise money for The Separated Child Foundation (www.separatedchild.org ) which was set up in memory of Ester Gluck who died tragically two years ago, at the age of 24.
I am lucky and grateful to have had a very privileged childhood. We make the assumption that every child deserves to be raised in a safe and loving environment but this simply isn't the case for too many children. In our day and age, no child should be suffering, let alone suffering alone.
Separated children are refugees or those seeking asylum without a parent or guardian. Suddenly forced to leave their home, country, and all that was familiar and loved, they find themselves alone, afraid and totally lost. The Separated Child Foundation aims to offer the emotional, financial and social support that they need to move forward.
Fortunately, so many of us have enjoyed privileged lives with an abundance of love, security and happiness and it is our responsibility to do whatever we can to help those less fortunate. Every little extra will help make BIG differences so I really urge and beg you to donate generously.
We never know when we will be at the mercy of another's kindness so please help me to make a difference today for those who need us! Your support means so much to me, but even more to them.
Thank you!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Separated Child Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
