Story

Three years ago my mother died from pancreatic cancer. Since then, I've met many people whose relatives have all succumbed to this pernicious disease.

I have yet to meet anyone, (and sadly I've met quite a few) with a relative or friend diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, who is able to tell a story of survival.

It seems Steve Jobs is on his own. Maybe an Apple a day does help!

The survival rate is a paltry 3%................yes, that's right......3%!!!

Maybe the scientists will never crack this one, but we've got to give them a chance. Donating to this cause will fund much needed research into this complex and ruthless cancer.

Dig as deep as you can. I know we're all knackered and broke and that the pressures of the recession bear down on us all, but do your best and I will promise you an Olympian display to be proud of. (Think Eric the Eel rather than Ian Thorpedo)

Since I'm a 60's child it seems wholly appropriate to sign off thus:

Peace.
