About twenty five years ago my mother was first diagnosed with bladder cancer.  She endured chemotherapy and initially responded well to treatment and seemed to make a full recovery.  However a year or so later the cancer returned and she was given only months to live. Yet now in 2013 my mum is still very much alive and still ruling our Dad with a rod of iron :) Her recovery was down to a mixture of reasons; a loving family, brilliant surgeons, her inherent stubborness and the amazing support of her Macmillan Nurse, Maureen. As a family we will be always be very grateful for the help that Macmillan Cancer Support gave us, during a very difficult time, and I am very pleased to be able to pay them back a little, by running the Edinburgh Marathon in May. I would really appreciate any sponsorship, however small, so I can raise some money for such a worthy cause. Thank you.
