Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for this exciting event!
Along with 10 other acts, I am taking part in Leicester's first ever Y Factor event, on Thursday 14th March 2013 at the O2 Academy Leicester. I will be Tony Hadley for the evening singing the Eighties classic, "Gold", with a live band in front of hundreds of people to raise money for two great charities, The Lord's Taverners and Mencap.
You can follow my progress in rehearsals on the official website to be launched shortly but, to whet your appetite and hopefully encourage you to put your hand in your pocket, thought you may enjoy the photo of me getting into the role as Tony!
I (and the other acts) will also need your support on the night - it will be a great evening and tickets go on sale shortly so do hope that you can join us on 14th March at the O2 Academy Leicester and look forward to seeing (and singing to you) then!
The Lord's Taverners is the official charity of recreational cricket and the UK's leading disability sports charity. Sport and recreation are essential for young people and The Lord's Taverners mission is to give a "sporting chance" to those in need. This is achieved by focusing on youth cricket in disadvantaged areas and sports recreation equipment for young people with disabilities and special needs including sports wheelchairs, specially adapted mini buses and sensory play areas.
Mencap is the voice of learning disability, and work in partnership with people with learning disabilities, supporting them to live life as they choose. Their work includes providing high-quality, flexible services allowing people to live as independently as possible in a place they choose, providing advice through their helplines and websites and campaigning for the changes that people with a learning disability want.
Your donation can help me smash my goal of £1000 and the money is to be split 50/50 between the two charities.
Every penny counts and all donations go to give young people a sporting chance and support families affected by learning disability. So please dig deep and donate now.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
