Kilimanjaro October 2017 · 15 October 2017

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

My younger sister suffered a stroke at the tender age of 37. Thankfully she has made a good recovery but it gave us all a shock and brought home just how things you take for granted can change quickly.

There are around 152,000 strokes in the UK suffered every year. Or one every 3 minutes to put it another way.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a fair old challenge. It's a 7 day trek up to the peak of Africa's highest mountain at 19,341 feet. Temperatures can range from +30 at the start to -15 at the summit and altitude sickness is a constant threat.

Please help me support those who suffer strokes and their families every year.

Thanks for taking the time and for anything you can give.

Rich.
