Leicestershire Round · 15 May 2013

Every day of the year, your local air ambulance (Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) is helping save more lives. Our critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day. We receive no government funding for our daily missions. Your support keeps us flying.

Story

At 12.00 on 21st June I will start the 100 mile Leicestershire Round long distance footpath in Somerby, and if things go to plan I will be back in Somerby late Saturday afternoon.

I want to raise as much money as I can for the counties Air Ambulance. The main reason for choosing this charity is it is something everyone in the community may need, but hope that they never will. It's reassuring to know that there is a team of people out there who are ready to pick us up in case we happen to fall.

There will be a very special prize for the first person drawn out of a hat who mentions that I will need an ambulance after this challenge.
