Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Since 1987 Scannappeal has raised over £19m for life saving and life changing medical equipment for hospitals in Bucks, particularly for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. Every 10 minutes a patient in the local area is diagnosed or treated with equipment funded by Scannappeal.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I have been competing in quite a few triathlons recently and found myself battling with marathon runners about which is the tougher discipline.. so not one to avoid a challenge and setting a reasonable mid-life goal I have decided to find out and along the way try and do something worthwhile for charity.

Choosing a charity is so difficult as there are so many of them out there all battling to riase money for good causes. The charity I am supporting
is scannapeal. Scannappeal is a registered charity that raises money for scanners and other life saving medical equipment for hospitals in Buckinghamshire.

One in seven of the local population has now benefited from this scanning equipment and the chances are that everyone knows someone – a relative, friend or colleague – who has had a scan.

I would love to see others be supported in this way and I'm asking for your help to make this possible.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Scannappeal will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now! and complete a good deed today, if not only for the charity, to make the pain more worthwhile when I reach the 20 mile point!

Many thanks for your support.

Warm Regards

Richard
