Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

You've found your way here because it's come to your attention that I'm doing the London - Brighton Bike Ride this year. 54 arse-threatening miles from Clapham Common to Brighton, with a massive hill to climb about 52 miles in. A task that would make lesser men quail. But not I. Although I've never done 54 miles in one go before, I reckon I'm up to it. And I've prepared. Oh yes. A brand new gel-padded shock absorbant saddle has been purchased to make those miles easier on the old botty. Cleats have been added to maximise pedalling efficiency. Training routes are being devised. Mr T has been employed as a motivational guru (he needs the work). Everything is being done to ensure I go the distance and don't get off and push my bike up the Ditchling Beacon like all the other wusses do.

Here's the serious charity bit:

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Heart problems aren't nice. We all know someone who has suffered or been taken from us too soon by them. By sponsoring me you can do your bit in the fight back.

Now, we all know that these are uncertain times. The world is in the midst of an economic meltdown that has seen solid, reliable institutions crumble. There's no more Woolies, for flip's sake! That's a bit sad. We're all feeling the pinch one way or another. But I ask you - given the choice between feeding your children and shoving a few quid on here to encourage me to push my heaving, sweating frame 54 miles across country and up a very very steep hill, I think you know what the right one is.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanks in advance. I won't let you down!
