Orphans Know More is a charity that is very dear to my heart, working in partnership with the most amazing group of people in Uganda to support 150 HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children.
Orphans Know More have set out to:
- Increase the standard of living for these families
- Ensure that all children are able to attend school, have appropriate nutritional intake, and live in adequate housing
- Guarantee that all children who are unwell with HIV/ AIDS or other ailments are receiving the treatment they require
- Give 100% of money raised directly into these areas as well as funding a local social worker to assess the needs of the children and the care they are receiving
To raise funds to support this work I am aiming to run 100 miles of competitive races during the course of 2008. This will include 5 half marathons, 4 10 mile runs, 3 10k runs and over 500 miles of training runs.
I would be so grateful if you were able to sponsor me. For every donation made I will donate an equivalent amount so for each £1 you give, £2.50 (incl Gift Aid) will go straight to help children in Africa.
