This summer I am walking Hadrian's Wall in 3 days with the Aidis Trust (www.aidis.org).
Hello, I hope you're all ready to give Aidis lots of cash.
The Aidis Trust is a charity that provides disabled people with adaptations for computers (e.g. the screen magnification software I use - Zoomtext). They also run a free'ish (it's a local rate call) technical support helpline and a website that provides information and advice on software and equipment to help disabled people use computers.
The most I've ever walked in a day was 42 miles so I'll have an idea of what to expect in terms of pain, tiredness and dehydration. Hopefully I know what I'm getting myself into.
The trek will start on the 26th of July with a trip up North, ready to start a 35 mile walk on the 27th. There will be a 20 mile walk on the 28th and we'll finish up with a 30 mile walk. We'll end up in Newcastle and I'll be looking forward to a very long and hot bath
To top it all off, it involves tents and not enough time for pubs. This is going to be a real personal challenge.
I do hope you can help me get close to my target of £1000. Perhaps you can ask your friends and people you don't like very much to sponsor me too. We could start an amazing pyramid scheme where everyone can join in.
Cheers
Richard
