Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign

  Ok, you wonderful people. Has it been a year already? Yep, a year since I decided to run the London 10km Race…the most exhausting and taxing thing I have ever attempted. Together you sponsored me personally for nearly £3000 which went to the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign. They so love me that they jumped at the chance of me doing it again (is that how they treat all their patients?) Actually I made a promise last year that if there was breath left in me I would do the same for each consecutive anniversary of my disease.

So I’m once again hoping that my personal defiance in the face of cancer statistics will encourage you to help the Royal Marsden in all their excellence and care including this year their latest goal of providing new facilities for youth patients. You can’t argue with their cause when you see teenagers having to study for their GCSE’s in a room with toddler sized furniture…and the toddlers themselves!

This year my eldest Daniel will be starting the race with me…but that will be the last I see of him as he leaves me in his dust. It’s the natural progression of fathers to be in their sons shadows! (If you want to sponsor Daniel then please use this page).

However, I’m not content to just try and kill myself this year on the London 10k... Daniel and I have also signed up for the London to Southend bike ride a week later…a mere 59 miles! Ouch!

 

Go on, how much more pain and suffering must I self inflict to get your attention and support for cancer? I only hope they don’t drugs test me!

 

Now, where’s the Vaseline, and where do I need to put it?
