2010 British 10K London run · 11 July 2010 ·

First Touch supports sick and premature babies cared for at St George’s neonatal unit in SW London. We fund state-of-the-art equipment and specialist staff training which are outside of the scope of NHS budgets, as well as a range of initiatives to support families during their stay on the unit.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  On 11 July, I will be running the British 10k London Run for First Touch.

First Touch is the charity supporting sick and premature babies at St Georges Hospital in South London. The Neonatal Unit (NNU) at St Georges cares for over 500 new-born babies each year (up to 35 at any one time) in the intensive, high dependency and special care nurseries at the hospital. All receive care from the inspirational and dedicated staff.

In 2007, my son Charlie was born 7 weeks early and spent 2 weeks in the NNU, including a period of time in the intensive care nursery.  The NNU's care of Charlie and the emotional support they gave to Sarah and I during such a difficult time was incredible, and we will be forever grateful. Charlie is now a very normal and happy 2 year old! The money raised will go towards essential life saving equipment, without which Charlie and many of the other tiny babies the amazing NNU team cares for would not be here today.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: First Touch gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
