RACE UPDATE AT BOTTEM OF PAGE.........
Well I have decided to attempt this lunacy again. I have been given a Gold Bond Place from the Society itself, which is an honour as they only have 7 places. I hope to drag my over weight frame around the 26 mile course beating last years time of 6 hours 5 minutes. I hope the weather is cooler than last year (the hottest on record) and I remember to ditch my signpost before the 10 mile mark.
Please sponsor me for this event as the National Eczema Society is a fine orginasation often over looked by the more popular and high profile charities.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: National Eczema Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
My wife Sharon,4 year old daughter Alex and 3 year old son Sam all suffer with Eczema, so this is a cause close to my families heart.
Please please sponsor me... Oh go on... Please
Many thanks for your support.

Today Sat 05 April......... I have my left knee strapped up and raised off of the ground after my last reasonable distance run of eight miles. As I type I am unable to place any weight onto this leg but hopefully will recover.........

Race Update
Well what a warm / cold / dry / sheeting rain kind of a 26.2 mile event. I managed to complete the whole lunicy in 5 hours 40 mins, 25 mins faster than last year. As expected the crowd showed there full support even in the driving rain, complete with shouts of encouragement and smiles, from Sharon Alex and Sam.
I had both knees strapped up which seemed to keep the knee problems at bay and the sore throat and cough appeared to depart ( only to return after the race). My training partner Dave ( first timer) also completed the course 9 mins ahead. At the 24 mile mark he was 2 mins ahead.........Must train harder.
A huge thank you goes to all those kind soals who have dug deep into there pockets in these expensive times, and to those who have assisted in the behind the sceens, with kiddie minding etc. I must thank Sharon my wife the most who has had to hold the fort whilst I have had time away from the children training and to apologise to her for the fact that I have not lost any weight in the process.
To all listed above and on the paper forms a BIG THANKYOU........
Richie
