Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults in the UK have eczema - over 8 million people. For 50 years the Society has provided information and support and works to dispel myths so those who have eczema need not feel stigmatised, guilty or isolated. More recently we have funded essential eczema research.

Story

Well what a hot and horrid 26.2 miles that was, unable to get up into fifth gear, but managed again to make it around the hot hot never ending course. My time was an annoying 3 mins slower than last year (5 hrs 43 mins) however I am not too unhappy as this years conditions were far harsher. From 17 miles onwards I was doing a great Quassy Modo inpression and was able to walk at the same speed as I was running.

Deed done, and I have raised so far £771.00 for a worth while cause, so not all lost!

As for my training person Carol, she ran the whole distance and completed 47 mins. ahead of me...

No black toe nails, only 3 blisters on each foot, and great vest sun tan . Oh yes I passed Mr and Mrs Jordan on mile 8, so I was determined to beat them.

Will I be doing this again?

Once again many many thanks for all your support through out my journey from armchair to sunny hot windless start line.

Sharon followed me and shouted abuse at 3 different locations (See my Facebook Page) as I hobbled past. I was sent on my way at the 23 mile with "Hurry up I want to go home" (with a smile)

Once again many many thanks

Richie
