The Challenge: To take part in the British 10K London Run to raise money for Street Child Africa.
When? On Sunday 12th July (not long now) I will join thousands of others on the streets of London. I'll be wearing tightish shorts (but at least not cycling shorts) and no doubt a red face. But it is all in a good cause.
Why? I have supported Street Child Africa for many years, but now, rather than just handing over my well-earned cash, I'm hitting the road. Recently we met with people who actually work in the field with these street children. The kids literally live on the streets, and have no family apart from other children on the streets. Our children have so much, they have absolutely nothing.
Latest news: I'm in training... I've done quite a few runs already. Once back home I take some pain relief so I can cope with the stairs. It's gradually getting easier... 7km is my maximum so far, but the hot weather is certainly not helping. I've taken to doing early morning runs to reduce the impact of the heat.
Donating: Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Street Child Africa gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thanks for your support.
