Supporting over 1,400 family members of seriously ill children, Camp Simcha is more than just a charity, we are here 24/7 to be a family of support for families of children with over 50 different medical conditions.

Story

On August 21st 2009, between 8am and 9am, I will be a major artwork in the centre of London.  Well, sort of.  As many of you may be aware, the empty "Fourth Plinth" in Trafalgar Square is being occupied by 2,400 'ordinary Britons' for one hour each over 100 days this summer (see www.oneandother.co.uk - live webcam 24/7); the brainchild of Antony "I designed the Angel of the North you know" Gormley.

And I've decided to use my hour of history to raise a wad of cash for the amazing people at Camp Simcha.  And since you're reading this, there's a good chance that you're about to help me do just that.

Here's the deal: I'm going to be doing the only 'party trick' I have (that can be done in public anyway) - drawing a map of the world, freehand, from memory.  A really good one.  You donate money, and you get yourself on the map in any location you choose.  Tell me who you are and where you want to be and I'll show the world where you are!

For a bit of background on Camp Simcha, please see the link on the left of this page as well as the Camp Simcha website. The care and support it provides to both children and their families going through difficult times can make an enormous difference, whether it is the fun activities put on for the children, hospital and home visits, the ability to share with others going through similar experiences or simply knowing that there is somewhere and someone to turn to who cares and will be there to help when needed.
