We, (Richard, Daniel & Phillip) are aiming to complete the West Highland Way in @7 Days, a 95 mile walk, from Glasgow to Fort William. We will be camping along the route.

Here is a picture of Richard Spencer, Ralph Spencer & Daniel Williams (L to R), taken in July 2005, just 6 weeks before Ralph was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer. This came as devastating news to his family & friends.

Unfortunately, Ralph passed away, peacefully, with his family by his side in Amber Ward, Ripley Hospital, November 2005.

Richard, Daniel & Phillip Joyce, are doing the sponsored walk in memory of their Father & Grandfather & friend, who meant so much to them.

Bowel Cancer UK are a charity dedicated to helping sufferers of bowel cancer & their families, offering support, advice & helping to educate people about the disease.

Amber Ward, Ripley Hospital were so caring, compassionate & gave the family so many answers at such a terrible time, helping them come to terms & cope with Ralph’s illness.

 Ralph, lived in Leabrooks, Derbyshire, a true family man, with friends of all ages, all walks of life, lets help his spirit live on by helping others like Ralph. A true gentleman.

Our West Highland Way Mission accomplished, took us 7 days, we finished on Sunday 30th August. After developing severe blisters on my feet, it was great to get to Fort William and the comfort of the Chase The Wild Goose hostel & a hot bath!

 A truly great adventure & a big thank you to all our sponsors both locally & Nationally. Thanks to all our families, friends, work mates for helping to raise a lot of money for our charities. We hope to raise several hundred pounds for our charities and will present them both with a cheque in October.

I have made a DVD of the walk, which is available to you for 4 G.B.pounds. Please send a cheque, payable to Richard Spencer, & your full postal address to 29 Greenhill Lane, Leabrooks, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 1LU.

It contains over an hour of our adventure, splendid scenery & stunning photographs & the occasional swear word, so not suitable for young children perhaps(you have been warned).
