Story

Hi

Just to say a huge thank you to everyone that sponsored me, I raised £934 which was absolutely fantastic, I can't believe the generosity of everyone, so thanks a million and I have already had several letters of thanks from MacMillian Cancer Relief and I am sure they will put this money to very good use.

In the end I completed the Marathon in 3hrs 55mins, not quite my planned 3hrs 30 however not bad considering my hip injury which I picked up a few weeks ago restricting my training. I also went off far to fast, I went through half way point in 1hr 38mins (it should have been closer to 1hr 45mins which was my plan before the race). I regretted this big time when the wheels started to come off around 18 miles, by 22miles I was running on flats and by 26 miles I was down to the rims, unfortunaley pit stops were not allowed on this event so limped home. I was extremely glad to see the finishing line and even managed a drunken run to the line, the crowds were amazing and really help to get me home just under the 4 hours, phew!!!!

Thanks again to all of you who have sponsored it really helped me get to the finish and I am now off planing my next challenge, any suggestions ?

Best Regards Richard
