<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Firewalking is the act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot embers or stones. Firewalking has been practiced by many people and cultures in all parts of the world. It is often used as a rite of passge, as a test of an individual's strength and courage, or in religion as a test of one's faith.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">All staff are aiming to raise a minimum fundraising target of £50.00 and then as a collective group we would be £5,000 nearer to our target of £100,000. Obviously the more we raise as indivudals through our friends and family the nearer the target we can get!</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The Hospice of St Francis provides care for patients with serious or terminal illness. Many patients have cancer but they also look after patients with heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease and neurological disease, as well as cancer.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The Hospice of St Francis cares for people from Dacorum, St Albans, Harpenden, Markyate, Chesham, Amersham and the surrounding villages. It is the only in patient unit with special facilities that allow patients to be cared for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It also helps patients who are seriously ill at home and in day hospice but needs to raise more than £3.5million every year.</span></span></span></p>
