As you'll all be aware, my dad, John, has been suffering from Parkinsons for the past 25 years. It's a degenerative disease of the brain due to the continued loss of nerve cells which affects about 1 in 500 people in the UK.

It's very painful to see a member of your family progressively lose their identity to such a debilitating illness and sadly, since setting up this page, John passed away recently after a long struggle.

Technologies which were too late to benefit John such as Deep Brain Stimulation and Spinal Chord Treatment are being developed all the time with the hope of easing patients' suffering and allowing sufferers the freedom to live a more normal life. However, as with everything, investment is key!
