| My personal message: |
An afterword - if anyone still wishes to donate - the page will remain active until one month after the race (if I remember correctly), which was Sunday 15th June. I got the blessed Devon hillsides by one means or other, though the swim was pretty flat in all fairness, in a few minutes over six hours. The swim and bike held up well and I came in on time but I did fall apart on the run and ground out slower and slower kilometers. I'm blaming a calf tear for ruining my training program and meaning that I only managed to run one 16k run in the last five weeks leading up to the race, and possibly causing severe cramps in my hamstrings on the second bike lap? However, and therefore, I think there's a good 20-30 minutes left for me to make up next year but maybe it's a little early for that though!?!
Anyway, thank you everyone for your support and I hope I've done you all proud for the time being; don't worry next year will be for me, I'll be back to badger you all for more cash for the Ironman or maybe the Marathon Des Sables...or maybe not at all?
