Story

The day after Vietnam, it was the toughest challenge. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online - there's still time.

How am I feeling now it is all over? Exhilarated, proud, exhausted - the bike ride in the remote north provided a test of my fitness, fortitude and resilience. The Vietnam challenge is 700kms uphill, the equivalent of riding up Everest, in 108 degrees of heat and three days of tropical rain storm - we chased a typhoon up the Da valley.

I'll update the blog -  www.travelupdate.blogspot.com ASAP.

I am paying for the trip myself, so all the sponsorship will go to Macmillan, the cancer support charity, and I'm delighted and grateful to report that with donations offline I've hit my target.

And this is why.. when my dear Dad died just before Xmas last year 2005 Macmillan supported my sister and me in caring for him.  Thankfully his his final illness was not long, but we needed help, and Macmillan complemented the care from the NHS.  We are grateful to them, and this ride is designed to help repay an emotional debt.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your donation; it does mean a great deal to me to know I have your support.
