Mercy Corps works amid disasters, conflicts, chronic poverty and instability to unleash the potential of people who can win against nearly impossible odds. Since 1979, Mercy Corps has provided over £650 million in assistance to people in 100 nations. Supported by headquarter offices in Europe, North America and Asia, the agency's unified global programmes employ nearly 3,400 staff worldwide and reach more than 14.4 million people in more than 35 countries. Thank you for sponsoring our Rickshaw Run!
4500 kilometers, 5 horsepower, terrible roads, no mechanical knowledge whatsoever-- we'll need all the help we can get.
Your donation will support Mercy Corps' work in West Bengal and Assam, India. The communities you are helping are isolated with high rates of unemployment, illiteracy, alcoholism, poor health conditions (including severe problems related to water and sanitation and nutrition), and gender inequality. Mercy Corps improves the quality of life in these communities through economic development, health, and youth initiatives.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Mercy Corps Scotland will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support! John and David
