The mission of ‘Children in Need’ is to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK. The vision is for a society where each and every child and young person is supported to realise their potential.

A local project to Northamptonshire which we are supporting through BBC Children in Need is Autism Concern.  Autism Concern is a charity which provides support to people affected by all forms of Autism in gaining independence and control of their lives.

The Devon C2C cycle route is a challenging 100 miles - starting from the craggy, contorted cliffs of Ilfracombe on the North coast of Devon to the impressive docks and harbours of maritime Plymouth in the South. (with many steep and climbing hills in between.)  We will complete the route over 3 days commencing 20th September.

Please sponsor us as much as you can as every penny you donate can make a difference to children and adults affected by Autism.

  • £5 a month helps pay for a helpline to anxious parents seeking advice
  • £10 a month helps pay for a mentor to meet regularly with someone with autism to help improve their social skills, confidence and support in gaining independance
  • £20 a month helps to provide practical support to someone with autism who is looking for work or needs support with Education.  It also helps to provide activity day programmes which are a safe, supported environment with structure and familiarity to enable people with autism gain confidence, independence and essentially have fun with others who understand them.

If you think of it per mile; 20p per mile is £20, however we hope that you will realise the importance of supporting such a  great charity and will donate more generously - however every little helps!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
