Sam Brearey is raising money for John Merricks Sailing Trust
In memory of Katrina Johnson
Donations cannot currently be made to this page
Without financial support from other people, 1996 Olympic 470 Silver Medallist, John Merricks would never have been able to fulfil his ambitions and demonstrate his remarkable talent for sailing. Set up by those closest to John following his untimely death, The John Merricks Sailing Trust seeks to help other young sailors (under 25) achieve their goals.

Story

Katrina was a friend to many, a fun loving and caring girl. At just 16 years old, on the 11th October 2001, she sadly died from meningococcal meningitis type c. It was a huge shock and a very sad time. The Katrina Johnson trust fund has been set up and combined with the John Merricks Sailing Trust to help provide young people with the brilliant opportunities that Katrina had in her short life and help them get the same joy and happiness sailing gave Katrina.

This September a small group of us will be riding 1000 miles from lands end to John O Groats (the length of the United Kingdom) in just 9 days, with the aim of raising a substantial sum of money for a fantastic charity and the fantastic memory of Katrina. All we need is a little bit of help from you guys sponsoring us, so please please please give us as much as you possibly can.
