On Friday 25 March, Massimo Franco, Chris Roy, Henry Churchill, Keith Mullan and Max Baldwin will begin the ‘Dhaka-Kolkata Ride Of The Tiger’ to raise money and support a sixth of the world's last remaining tigers. All money raised will be donated directly to the Sundarbans Tiger Project (part of the ZSL conservation programme), the only tiger conservation project working in Bangladesh.
Up to 500 wild tigers survive in the Bangladesh Sundarbans - a watery mangrove jungle supporting over 1 million people - and they are threatened by poaching, loss of habitat and generally all of us. Without the support of people like YOU, these tigers could go extinct in our lifetime. There are just 3200 wild tigers left in the whole world - the size of a small village - and every penny/cent/taka counts to support this significant population in Bangladesh.
That is why the Ride of the Tiger team is braving the roads, distance, blisters, 20 ton lorries and busses, pot holes and dust, dust, dust. We hope to raise a total of £5,000 for the cause, and are going all out out in Dhaka to raise funds. We're spending our weekends on rickshaws trying to earn a fast buck(taka); throwing jungle parties; selling our butt cheeks to companies (logo's on shorts) and many other things to do everything we can for the tiger.
SO, please dig deep and sponsor us. Your support will be greatly appreciated by us and the Sundarbans Tiger Project. Your money goes a long way.
