Ride Out, Read On · 26 January 2007

The National Literacy Trust aims to create a society in which everyone has the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that they need to fulfil their own and, ultimately, the nation’s potential.

Story

We are going to ride our plucky push bikes from Ashton Gate stadium (home of the mighty Robins!) to the end of the land (Land's End) in under 48 hours on the 2nd and 3rd of April 2007.

A small matter of 208 saddle sore miles.

We are doing this to raise money for our Reading Is Fundamental project. Through RIF we encourage young people to develop a love of reading by giving them the opportunity to choose and keep books of their own. Most of the students which we work with have few or no books in their homes before they take part in RIF . See www.readingthegame.org.uk to find out more.
