My story

Ride completed successfully after 21 days on the road and 1015 miles. Thank you very much to everyone that sponsored me, but just in case you're wondering donations are still accepted!!

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. A friend recently suggested that I might like to join him and two others on a 1000 mile bike ride, so how could I refuse?

I've chosen to do the ride in the name of Cancer Research because I'll struggle to haul my 55kgs + bike + luggage the length of the country without a very large incentive; namely the fact that all money raised will go towards a charity that acts in the interests of all of us.

Training will start tomorrow, or rather it would've started tomorrow if I didn't have a holiday booked for August. It'll just have to wait until September. It's ok, I don't leave until the 4th. If you leave your email address in the "comments" section (or send it to me separately) I'll add you to a mailing list and will do my best to describe the country via email as I go. Those regional uncertainties, such as "Do all Scots have red hair?" will be answered to save you the trip. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Please sponsor me; all donations, no matter how large or small will be much appreciated and are going to a very worthwhile cause. Many thanks for your support.
