On the 31st of July we will be attempting to perform a scene from Shakespeare at the end of every Shakespeare Road, Avenue, Crescent etc., in the greater London area, in order to raise money for The Globe Players. (Registered Charity 1131332)

The Globe Players are a family-run theatre company who have been taking excellent productions into schools for over 40 years! They play to all ages. From beautifully crafted traditional fairy stories for infants, to exciting and entertaining educational shows for primary school children and brilliantly put together Shakespeare shorts designed as learning aides for secondary school children finding out about Shakespeare for the first time - or studying for their exams! (And I’m pretty certain the teachers find them useful as well!)

Children have quite literally grown up watching the Globe Players, and their lives and education have been greatly enhanced as a result.

Last year The Globe Players became a charity in a bid to attract more funding, but as we all know in today’s economic climate money is in short supply.

Shakespeare - Right Up Your Street! is our way of raising some much needed cash for this amazing company, so that they can continue to do what they do so well! On the 31st of July, we will be aiming to do what The Globe Players have been doing for the past forty-four years, and that is - putting Shakespeare on the map!
