Story
In the last few months our little girl Ava has been diagnosed with a very rare genetic condition. It is so rare that Ava is one of only nine people in the world with it. We now know Ava will face some significant challenges as she grows up and this diagnosis has made us aware what these will be.
One night whilst at the gym I decided I wanted to do something positive to help other families who have children with genetic conditions, especially those who are still looking for a diagnosis and face an uncertain future. So I applied to do the Great North Run half marathon.
With the help from my amazing family and friends there is now a team of 8 all running for the wonderful charity Genetic Disorders UK: myself Suzie Judd, Helen Butler, Louise Judd, Suzy Powell, Suzanne Benn, Sue Mills, Nicky Hill and Amanda Kitson.
