Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Some of you know and others dont, but I tragically lost my wonderful brother Paul on 27th January 2001 at the young age of 22. He had suffered many years of depression and had been in and out of hospital, sadly he made the choice to leave this world and find his own peaceful pad in heaven!

There were very sad times during his illness, like the many times I had to stop him from hurting himself, and being admitted to hospital. However, there were also some funny times like the time he fled from hospital and jumped on a Virgin Train to London-without a ticket I should add!! When the conductor came round and asked him for his ticket his response was "its okay im friends with Richard". He then turned up at my grandparents home with a tramp and asked them to take him in!! I have some wonderful memorys of my beautiful brother.

To this day I still think of him, miss him, and love him dearly. I wish he was still here.

After Paul died, I started my battle with comfort food, however in Jan 2011- Pauls 10 year anniversary, I made a promise to myself to lose weight and get fit. Here we are in May and Ive lost just over 3 stone and have signed up to my 1st Half Marathon.....13.2 miles at Silverstone on 11th March 2012.

Some people think I must be crazy, however Im feeling very determined, Im under no illusion its going to be tough, but im running for a charity very close to my heart. SOBS- Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide. They were there for me and my family at a time when we felt lost and confused. In those first few months of darkness they were there- group meetings, one to ones and at the end of the phone. Not many people are aware of this charity, so not only am I hoping to raise awareness, I'm also hoping to raise funds for them so they can keep going with there very important work.

I would be so grateful for your donations, however small or BIG!! My target is £500.
