The Intensive Care Society - The Xtreme Snowdonia Challenge 'Sea to Summit' · 18 June 2011 ·

The Intensive Care Society is the largest multi-professional intensive care body in the UK. We support the entire intensive care community as they care for the sickest of patients. We exist to improve the lives of those teams by providing research, guidance, education, wellbeing and a lot more.

Story

Until very recently the only rambling that went on in Royal Mail Data Services was during team meetings when we discussed the Data Protection Act...

But...

That is all about to change...

“

In 2011 a crack Data Unit was sent to Mount Snowdon by a military court for a crime they did not commit. This team promptly escaped from a maximum security Data Centre to the Welsh underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can sponsor... The Data Services Team....

”

That's right! The Royal Mail Data Services Team are completing the X-treme Snowdonia Challenge for The Intensive Care Foundation. The challenge involves a breathtaking trek of endurance and stamina with some of the team members covering up to 24.7 miles and ascending 5,324 feet from the coast to the top of Mount Snowdon!

We are raising money for the Intensive Care Foundation; a charity close to all our hearts as our colleague Paul Davison was struck down with Meningitis at Christmas last year and it was only as a result of the first class care and attention that he received form his local ICU that he is with us today to support this great cause.

The charity is the representative body for intensive care professionals and patients and is dedicated to the delivery of the highest quality of critical care to patients. The services provided by Intensive Care Units are critical to everyone's lives at some point; whether it be through accident, disease, age related illness or unexpected health problems. The care they provide helps to save millions of people's lives a year and you just never know when you might need it too!

Please support us and this great charity by donating whatever you can and we promise to do both you and the charity proud.

So please, please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you,

The Royal Mail Data Services Team
